Ion channels are integral membrane proteins that help establish and control the small voltage gradient across the plasma membrane of living cells by allowing the flow of ions down their electrochemical gradient. Transient receptor potential cation channel, subfamily C, member 4 (TrpC4) is a human gene that encodes a protein of the same name. It is expressed in smooth muscle and endothelial cells where it regulates membrane potential and calcium influx. TrpC4 is activated by G(q)/phospholipase C-coupled receptors. Studies suggest that TrpC4 contributes to axonal regeneration after nerve injury.
Antigen: Synthetic peptide corresponding to aa 930-947 of rat TrpC4 (accession no. O35119).

This antibody recognizes human, mouse, and rat TrpC4.
Immunoblotting: use at 1-10ug/ml. A band of ~110kDa is detected.
Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry: use at 0.1-1ug/ml
Immunofluorescence: use at 1-10ug/ml
These are recommended concentrations. User should determine optimal concentrations for their application.
Positive control: COS cell lysate transiently transfected with TrpC4.
Dilute in PBS or medium which is identical to that used in the assay system.
