Anti-Syntaxin Monoclonal Antibody
Catalog No.: 56479 (clone SP6)
Size: 100ug in PBS, pH 7.4; 50% glycerol, 0.09% sodium azide. Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Syntaxin is a ~38kDa type II integral membrane protein localized to the plasma membrane at nerve terminals. Syntaxin was identified through its association with synaptotagmin and N-type calcium channel, a subtype of calcium channel on the plasma membrane that is important for neurotransmitter release. Homologs of syntaxin have been identified in various eukaryotes ranging from yeast to human. Syntaxin is also the target of clostridial neurotoxin C1 that blocks neurotransmitter release.
Antigen: Synaptic vesicle-containing fractions purified from human brain extracts.
Host Species: Mouse
Antibody Class: IgG1
This antibody recognizes human, mouse, rat, hamster, bovine, feline, and porcine syntaxin.
Immunoblotting: use at 1-10ug/ml. A band of ~38kDa is detected.
These are recommended concentrations. User should determine optimal concentrations for their application.
Positive control: Rat brain lysate.
Dilute in PBS or medium which is identical to that used in the assay system.
STORAGE AND STABILITY
This antibody is stable for at least one (1) year at -20°C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
For in vitro investigational use only. Not for use in therapeutic or diagnostic procedures.
