Peroxisomal Biogenesis Factor 6 (PEX6) Monoclonal Antibody
Catalog no.: 56576 (clone S233-8)
Format: 100ug (1mg/ml) Protein G-purified antibody in PBS, pH 7.4, 0.1% sodium azide, 50% glycerol.
Peroxisomal Biogenesis Factor 6 (PEX6) is a member of the AAA (ATPases associated with diverse cellular activities) family of ATPases. It is predominantly a cytoplasmic protein that plays a direct role in peroxisomal protein import and is required for PTS1 (peroxisomal targeting signal 1, a C-terminal tripeptide of the sequence ser-lys-leu) receptor activity. Mutations in the PEX6 gene cause peroxisome biogenesis disorders of complementation group 4 and complementation group 6. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Antigen: Fusion protein corresponding to aa 2-294 (N-terminus) of human PEX6. This sequence is 82% identical in rat and mouse and <50% identical with other PEX proteins. Accession nos: NP_000278.3, Q13608 Gene ID: 5190 Host Species: Mouse Antibody Class: IgG1 Specificity: This antibody recognizes human and rat PEX6.
Immunoblotting: use at 1-5ug/ml. A band of ~100kDa is detected.
Immunofluorescence: use at 10ug/ml.
Detection of PEX6 in rat brain lysate with #56576 at 5ug/ml.
Detection of PEX6 in neuroblastoma cell line SK- N-BE with #56576 at 10ug/ml: DAPI (blue) nuclear stain, Texas Red F actin stain, ATTO 488 (green) PEX6 stain.
These are recommended concentrations. Endusers should determine optimal concentrations for their application.
Dilute in PBS or medium that is identical to that used in the assay system.
