PARK7 is one of four chromosomal loci (PARK2, PARK6, PARK7 and PARK9) known to be associated with autosomal recessive, early onset parkinsonism. Positional cloning within the refined PARK7 critical region recently identified mutations in the DJ-1 gene in PARK7- linked families. Mutations in the PARK7/DJ-1 gene cause autosomal- recessive Parkinsons disease.
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 167-189 (AIVEALNGKEVAAQVKAPLVLKD) of human PARK7 conjugated to KLH at the N-terminus.

This antibody recognizes human and mouse PARK7 (DJ-1). Sequence homology to mouse and rat DJ-1 is 82%.
Immunoblotting : use at 1:500 dilution. A band of approximately 19 kDa is detected.
Positive control: HEK293 cell lysate or mouse brain tissue lysate.
Dilute in PBS or medium which is identical to that used in the assay system.
STORAGE AND STABILITY
This antibody is stable for at least one (1) year at -20°C. Avoid multiple freeze- thaw cycles.
