Pan-QKI Monoclonal Antibody
Catalog no.: 56555 (clone S147-6)

QKI (also called Protein Quaking or HqkI) is an RNA binding protein that plays a central role in myelinization. QKI acts by regulating pre-mRNA splicing, mRNA export, mRNA stability, and protein translation and is itself regulated by alternative splicing. QKI is expressed in the frontal cortex of brain; it is shown to be downregulated in the brains of schizophrenic patients.
Antigen: Fusion protein corresponding to aa 1-341 (full-length) of human QKI-5. This sequence is 100% identical to mouse, 99% identical to rat, and >90% identical to QKI-6, QKI-7, and QKI-7b. Accession nos.: NP_006766.1, Q96PU8
Gene Id: 9444
Host Species: Mouse
Antibody Class: IgG2b
Specificity: This antibody recognizes human, mouse, and rat QKI-5. It cross-reacts with QKI-6, QKI-7, and QKI-7b.
Immunoblotting: use at 1-5ug/ml. A band of ~36-38kDa is detected.
Immunofluorescence: use at 10ug/ml.
These are recommended concentrations. Endusers should determine optimal concentrations for their application.
Dilute in PBS or medium that is identical to that used in the assay system.
