Anti-p38 Polyclonal Antibody
Catalog No.: 11049
Size: 100ul whole antiserum
The MAPK (mitogen-activated protein kinase) family includes stress-activated protein kinases (SAPKs), extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERKs), and p38 kinases. Upon activation, p38 translocates to the cell nucleus where it phosphorylates one or more nuclear substrates resulting in transcriptional changes and other cellular processes involved in cell growth, division, differentiation, inflammation, and death. p38 always acts as a pro-apoptotic factor with its activation leading to the release of cytochrome c from mitochondria and cleavage of caspase-3 and its downstream effector PARP. p38 is activated by chemical stress inducers (such as hydrogen peroxide and heavy metals) and biological stress signals (such as tumor necrosis factor, interleukin-1, irradiation, and chemotherapeutic drugs).
Host Species: Rabbit
Antigen: A 20 amino acid synthetic peptide (aa 341-360) corresponding to human p38.
Antibody Class: Polyclonal
This antibody recognizes human, mouse, rat, bovine, chicken, dog, guinea pig, hamster, pig, monkey, rabbit, and sheep p38.
Immunoblotting: use at 1:5,000 dilution. A band of ~43 kDa is detected.
Immunoprecipitation: use at 1:250 dilution.
These are recommended concentrations. User should determine optimal concentrations for their application.
Positive control: HeLa cell lysate.
Dilute in PBS or medium which is identical to that used in the assay system.
STORAGE AND STABILITY
This antibody is stable for at least one (1) year at -20°C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
For in vitro investigational use only. Not for use in therapeutic or diagnostic procedures
