The central nervous system octapeptide, neuropeptide FF (NPFF), is believed to play a role in pain modulation and opiate tolerance. Two G protein-coupled receptors, NPFF1 and NPFF2, have been isolated from human and rat central nervous system tissues. Localization of mRNA and binding sites of these receptors in the dorsal horn of the spinal cord, the lateral hypothalamus, the spinal trigeminal nuclei, and the thalamic nuclei suggest a role for NPFF in pain modulation.
Antigen: N-terminal sequence MNEKWDTNSSENWHPI and C-terminal sequence ELVMEELKETTNSSEI of human NPFF2.
Host Species: Rabbit
Preservatives: 0.02% sodium azide.
This antibody recognizes human NPFF2 (45 kD).
Immunoblotting: use at 1:500-1:1,000 dilution.
ELISA: use at 1:1,000-1:5,000 dilution.
Dilute in PBS or medium which is identical to that used in the assay system.
