Ion channels are integral membrane proteins that help establish and control the small voltage gradient across the plasma membrane of living cells by allowing the flow of ions down their electrochemical gradient. The protein encoded by the Kv3.1b gene is member of the delayed rectifier class of channel proteins and is an integral membrane protein that mediates the voltage-dependent potassium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Diminished Kv3.1b expression appears to correlate with functional decline in the medial olivocochlear efferent system. Other studies indicate that Kv3.1b channels can be oxygen sensors.
Antigen: Fusion protein aa 437-585 (cytoplasmic C-terminus) of rat Kv3.1b (accession number NP_036988).

This antibody recognizes human (weak), mouse, and rat Kv3.1b.
Immunoblotting: use at 1-10ug/ml. A band of ~110kDa is detected.
Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry: use at 0.1-1ug/ml
Immunofluorescence: use at 1-10ug/ml.
These are recommended concentrations. User should determine optimal concentrations for their application.
Positive control: Rat brain lysate.
Dilute in PBS or medium which is identical to that used in the assay system.

This antibody is stable for at least one (1) year at -20°C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
