Ion channels are integral membrane proteins that help establish and control the small voltage gradient across the plasma membrane of living cells by allowing the flow of ions down their electrochemical gradient. The protein encoded by the Kir2.3 gene is an integral membrane protein and a member of the inward rectifier potassium channel family. The Kir2.3 protein has a small unitary conductance compared to other members of this protein family. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein has been identified.
Antigen: Fusion protein aa 390-445 of human Kir2.3 (accession number NP_032453).
Host Species: Mouse
Antibody Class: IgG1
This antibody recognizes human, mouse, and rat Kir2.3. It does not cross-react with Kir2.1 or Kir2.2.
Immunoblotting: use at 1-10ug/ml. A band of ~45kDa is detected.
Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry: use at 0.1-1ug/ml
Immunofluorescence: use at 1-10ug/ml.
These are recommended concentrations. User should determine optimal concentrations for their application.
Positive control: Rat brain lysate.
Dilute in PBS or medium which is identical to that used in the assay system.
STORAGE AND STABILITY
This antibody is stable for at least one (1) year at -20°C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
