Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is a retrovirus that infects CD4+ T cells, macrophages and dendritic cells leaving infected individuals susceptible to various opportunistic infections. HIV is a member of the genus Lentivirus, part of the family of Retroviridae. Lentiviruses are transmitted as single-stranded, positive- sense, enveloped RNA viruses. Upon entry into a target cell, viral RNA is converted to double-stranded DNA by a virally encoded reverse transcriptase. Viral DNA is integrated into host cellular DNA by a virally encoded integrase. The virus may become latent or may continue to infect other susceptible cells.
Antigen: Recombinant gp120 (MN strain), a CCR5 and X4 tropic strain.
Host Species: Mouse
ELISA: use at 1-5ug/ml for binding to recombinant gp120.
In vitro virus neutralization: enduser should determine optimal concentrations.
Reconstitute in 1ml distilled water. Mix gently and wash the sides of the vial. Wait 1 minute before use.
STORAGE AND STABILITY
This antibody is stable for at least one year. Store lyophilized product at 4°C. After reconstitution, aliquot and store at -20°C. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
