Focal Adhesion Kinase, FAK (also known as PTK2 protein tyrosine kinase 2, PTK2) is a protein that, in humans, is encoded by the PTK2 gene. FAK is a focal adhesion-associated protein kinase involved in cellular adhesion and spreading processes. It has been shown that when FAK is blocked, breast cancer cells become less metastatic due to decreased mobility.
Antigen: Peptide sequence that includes phosphorylation site of tyrosine 861 (H-I-Y(p)-Q-P) derived from human FAK.

Specificity: This antibody detects endogenous human FAK only when phosphorylated at tyrosine 861.
Immunoblotting: use at dilution of 1:500-1:1,000. A band of ~125kDa is detected.

Dilute in PBS or medium that is identical to that used in the assay system.
