Anthrax toxin produced by Bacillus anthracis is composed of three proteins: Protective Antigen (PA), Edema Factor (EF), and Lethal Factor (LF). Toxicity requires the assembly of all three of these proteins, and this process is initiated when full-length PA binds to the cell surface ATR (anthrax toxin receptor). After binding, PA is enzymatically cleaved to yield a 63kDa fragment which then binds EF and LF, and the complex is internalized.
Antigen: Purified B. anthracis Protective Antigen (83kDa).
Host Species: Mouse
Specificity: These antibodies recognize different epitopes of the 83kDa and 63kDa forms of
B. anthracis PA. They do not cross-react with B. anthracis EF, LF, or spore/vegetative surface antigens.
Immunoblotting: use 18721, 18725, or 18726 at 5ug/ml.
Sandwich ELISA: use 18720 for capture (5ug/ml) and 18722 for detection (1ug/ml); use 18275 for capture (5ug/ml) and 18726 for detection (1ug/ml).
These are recommended concentrations. Endusers should determine optimal concentrations for their applications.
Dilute in PBS.
STORAGE AND STABILITY
These antibodies are stable at 4°C or for at least one (1) year at -20°C to -70°C. Store product in appropriate aliquots to avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
