Size: 200 ug purified antibody in PBS, pH 7.4.
BACKGROUND
Anthrax toxin produced by Bacillus anthracis is composed of three proteins: Protective Antigen (PA), Edema Factor (EF), and Lethal Factor (LF). Toxicity requires the assembly of all three of these proteins, and this process is initiated when full-length PA binds to the cell surface ATR (anthrax toxin receptor). After binding, PA is enzymatically cleaved to yield a 63 kD fragment which then binds EF and LF, and the complex is internalized.
SPECIFICATION SUMMARY
Antigen: Purified B. anthracis Protective Antigen (83 kD).
Host Species: Mouse
Antibody Class: IgG1=18720, 18725, 18726; IgG2b=18721, 18722, 18723, 18724
Preservative: 0.1% NaN3
SPECIFICITY
These antibodies recognize different epitopes of the 83kD and 63 kD forms of B. anthracis PA. They do not cross-react with B. anthracis EF, LF, or spore/vegetative surface antigens.
APPLICATIONS
Immunoblotting: use 18721, 18723, 18725, or 18726 at 5 ug/ml.
Sandwich ELISA: use coating antibody (18720 or 18725) at 5 ug/ml; use detect antibody (18722, 18723, or18726) at 1 ug/ml.
DILUTION INSTRUCTIONS
Dilute in PBS or medium which is identical to that used in the assay system.
STORAGE AND STABILITY
These antibodies are stable for at least one (1) year at -20°C. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
For in vitro investigational use only. Not for use in therapeutic or diagnostic procedures.
